Hanging in there

Sometimes you just have to ask yourself, How can the fairy collective surprise the sin?

Yes, I suppose you think I've lost my mind, but we'll soon see.

Cleaning a Doctors Coat

If you have a white Doctors Coat or lab coat, it often becomes marked with ink, often by accident. After searching on many sites, here are some tried & true methods for removing ink stains & thus saving yourself from a potential costly expense of a new coat.

  1. Prepare the coat by placing an old towel inside under the stained area. As you are working on the stain, some of the ink will be transferred to the towel. Use a thick enough towel so the stain is not transferred to the back of the shirt.
  2. Start by spraying the area with a good amount of hairspray. The chemicals in the hairspray are often enough to loosen and lift the stain.
  3. Allow the hairspray to set for a minute and then blot (don’t rub) the area with a clean cloth or cotton ball.
  4. If the stain remains, moisten a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and gently blot the stain.
  5. Repeat using a clean cotton ball each time until the stain is removed.
  6. If the stain still persists, mix together a small amount of baking soda and water to form a loose paste.
  7. Apply the paste to the stain with a cotton ball or soft towel.
  8. Blot to lift and remove the stain.
  9. If the above steps show no success, a last resort is to apply acetone nail polish remover. Cotton fabrics should be able to tolerate the acetone, but check by testing a small hidden area first to ensure there is no damage to the color or fibers of the shirt.
  10. Moisten a cotton ball with the nail polish remover and blot the stain.
  11. Repeat with fresh cotton balls until the stain is removed.
  12. Once the stain is gone, launder the shirt as normal to remove any cleaning residue.
  13. Allow the piece to air-dry first to ensure that no marks remain.

I'm back!!

I'm glad the stress of the Holidays have passed. I have to tell you about one of the gifts that I chose for Christmas that really was a hit. It's a line of dolls called the Only Hearts Club. You can find them and many retailers online and I'm a big sucker for the horse & pony club ones. I mean would you not have been just tickled to find a stable under the tree that looked like this:

Can you not imagine your little girl playing with her horses for hours like you used to? It all makes me want to get in the floor and play. The great plus point for this line is that they are not outrageously expensive. So let your imagination run wild!

New Layout

I hope to be sporting a new layout in the near future. I don't know how you feel about bloggers that change their backgrounds, but a orange county web designer that I work with suggested that changing the background keeps that blog looking fresh and helps to keep the readers interested. So I guess we'll see. I'm all about some snow-flake blog backgrounds around Christmas time.

Wedding Favors Galore

I'm all about monogramming lately. This great site called American Bridal offers monogrammed wedding favors and you can get them for as little as $1.12 each with FREE personalization.

Being budget friendly doesn't mean that you can't have fresh, beautiful things at the biggest day in your life. I hope some of these sites that I link for you really help out. It makes me want to plan my big day all over again because so much has changed in the last 6 years in the wedding world.

Children's Franchise or Stay at Home

I have several friends that make a decent living working at home. If you put a little time and effort into seeking out the proper company, you can make an income that will provide for your family from the comfort of your living room. I promise that I speak the truth. You could work at a childrens franchise like a day-care in exchange for free childcare or you could work from home while your children play in their own backyard.

There really are honesty companies out there looking for work at home employees that are legit.
